Broadstairs is a pretty town, which still retains its unspoilt charm, with its narrow streets, flint cottages, and interesting shops, all beautifully set off by a wide sandy bay and harbour, and cliff-top gardens. Nearby Ramsgate Harbour is a source of never ending interest and there are lots of nice cafés at the harbourside. There are lots of other sandy bays and coves in the nearby area, and a little further afield, quite different coastal areas, with chalk and flint predominating. Don't miss magical Sandwich Bay and fascinating Dungeness (travel from Hythe on the miniature railway for the best way to see it). Whitstable and Faversham are well worth a visit, and so are Dover, Deal and Walmer with their historic castles. Inland, Kent is a beautiful county, with orchards, woodlands and rolling scenery. And there are some very attractive villages, in most of which you will be able to find a cosy pub for lunch. Canterbury is about half an hour's drive away. It is a wonderful city, with breathtaking buildings, not least the cathedral, and lovely shops. And if you fancy a day across the Channel, there are plenty of ferries from nearby Dover to France and Belgium. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe house has a washing machine, TV with Freeview, DVD player, telephone with free wireless broadband, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, radio, coffee maker and lots more, as well as the obvious things like plenty of china, cutlery etc. Cooking is by gas. There is central heating and plenty of hot water, with all gas and electricity included in the rent in the summer, and most of it in the winter. OCCUPANCY - From Easter until the end of October this is on a weekly basis, with changeover days on Friday. Midweek bookings and short breaks are available out of season, and at short notice during the summer if dates available. PETS - We regret no pets are allowed. LINEN - Bed linen and towels are included in the rent. All beds have duvets but we can provide blankets if preferred. TERMS - Deposit, payable on booking, is 50%, with the balance payable at least two weeks before arrival. These arrangements can be varied by mutual agreement. ACCESS - A statement giving details of rooms and furnishings, complete with measurements is available on request. "GREEN CREDENTIALS" - We endeavour to follow good practices for the Environment.
